North East Scotland College

North East Scotland College (NESCol) plays a pivotal role in providing the education and training required to meet the needs of the local, national and international economy.

Energy Expertise

The College, alongside its subsidiary oil and gas training company – ASET International Oil & Gas Training Academy – is dedicated to working with clients and wider industry stakeholders to facilitate innovative and effective Oil and Gas training and education.
The Scottish Maritime Academy www.smaritime.co.uk is the College’s maritime centre of excellence and offers training solutions for the offshore standby and supply sector.

NESCol has extensive engineering workshops across its campuses in Aberdeen, Fraserburgh and Peterhead. In February 2017 the new STEM Centre at Fraserburgh Campus was officially opened by Sir Ian Wood GBE. This new £8 million facility, equipped with the latest technology, is well positioned to meet the workforce training demands of the region.

Developing Engineering Talent

The College has a wide range of courses tailored to meet the needs of the energy sector. We work in partnership with employers of all sizes, in shaping and delivering courses that meet specific training objectives. Courses can be delivered at the workplace or at one of our campuses or learning centres.

Modern Apprenticeships
Our Modern Apprenticeship (MA) programme is one of the largest in Scotland – the majority are in engineering disciplines including fabrication and welding. The MA programme supports your business to train your employees whilst providing financial assistance.

Non-advanced to advanced engineering courses
Many of our full-time courses from National Certificate to Higher National Diploma level are offered on a flexible basis – either day release, block release basis or evening study. We also have a portfolio of courses that are purely work-based allowing employees to gain a vocational qualification whilst working, plus we offer self-study courses for those who wish to progress at a time and place that fits in with the working day.
